Costa and Jordan's King Abdullah discuss EU-Jordan relations
New York, September 21 (Hibya) - European Council President Antonio Costa met with Jordan's King Abdullah II in New York and discussed EU-Jordan relations and regional developments.
European Council President Antonio Costa met with Jordan's King Abdullah II in New York as part of the 81st United Nations General Assembly.
Costa said they discussed the strength of relations between the European Union and Jordan, the progress made following the first bilateral summit held at the beginning of the year, and the implementation of the Strategic and Comprehensive Partnership.
Commenting on developments in the region, Costa said Jordan has demonstrated stability and resilience in the face of increasingly challenging regional conditions. Costa noted that the European Union and Jordan share a common understanding of the regional situation and a common commitment to the way forward.
Costa said diplomacy is the path to achieving sustainable solutions and stated that the European Union and Jordan will continue working for peace, stability and security in the region.
