UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper emphasized Alliance solidarity in the face of escalating tensions.

Highlighting the nature of the attack, Cooper said: “Russia's attack on a residential building in Romania after violating NATO airspace is an extremely dangerous and reckless act.”

Sharing the UK's position and ongoing diplomatic contacts, Cooper stated: “The United Kingdom strongly condemns this serious escalation that has resulted in loss of life. I am in contact with Romania's Foreign Minister.”

Emphasizing collective defense, Cooper concluded: “The United Kingdom stands united with Romania and all allies in defending every inch of NATO territory.”
