According to CCTV, US media claimed that Washington and Tehran are close to reaching an understanding aimed at ending the war. The Iranian side stated that the US proposal is still under review and that a response will be delivered through Pakistan.

According to reports in the US media, it was claimed that the United States and Iran are close to reaching an understanding to end the ongoing tensions.

In a report published by Axios and based on US officials, it was stated that the parties are working on a one-page memorandum of understanding aimed at ending the war and establishing a framework for nuclear negotiations.

According to the report, under the possible agreement Iran would agree to stop uranium enrichment, while the US would lift sanctions. It was also stated that removing restrictions on passage through the Strait of Hormuz is on the agenda.

The duration of the moratorium on uranium enrichment has not yet been clarified, though it could range between 12 and 15 years. The report stated that Iran initially proposed 5 years, while the US proposed 20 years.

Although no official agreement has yet been reached, it was stated that the parties are at their closest point since the beginning of the war.

The Iranian side, however, approached the claims cautiously. The semi-official Fars News Agency reported that Iran has not yet responded to the latest message from the US. It was stated that the message was conveyed through Pakistan, which has taken on a mediating role in the talks.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ismail Bekayi announced that the proposal is being reviewed and that a response will be conveyed through Pakistan after the evaluation.

Meanwhile, Iranian Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Spokesperson Ebrahim Rezai argued in a social media post that the report represents the “US wish list.” Rezai stated that the US would not be able to achieve through negotiations what it failed to achieve through war.
