CENTCOM: No ship breached the U.S. blockade in the first 24 hours
Washington, April 14 (Hibya) – The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that a blockade operation targeting Iranian ports was carried out with more than 10,000 personnel, numerous warships, and aircraft.
In a statement, the command said the blockade was applied to ships of all nations, and that by the end of the first 24 hours of the operation, 6 commercial vessels had been turned back.
The statement added:
"The blockade is being applied in a neutral manner to all vessels of all nations entering or leaving Iranian ports and coastal areas, including all Iranian ports in the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. U.S. forces support freedom of navigation for vessels traveling to and from non-Iranian ports through the Strait of Hormuz."
